Tapas Route Granada 2015
The Town Hall of Granada and the Spanish National Restaurant Federation have presented in Plaza del Carmen the Universiade Tapas Route, to be held between the 3rd and 13th February in the city of Granada. Restaurants such as Tinajas, La Platea or El Pilar del Toro, have prepared exclusive tapas for the route, such as the “Uggi Burger” or the “La Espuma de Sulayr”.
The event was attended by José Torres Hurtado, mayor of Granada and president of the Organizing Committee, Antonio Granados, Councillor for Sports, Rocío Díaz, Councillor for Tourism, Juan Luis Álvarez, on behalf of the entrepreneurship, and Trinitario Betoret Catalá, president of the National Restaurant Federation.
15000 brochures will be distributed with a list of the 12 bars and restaurants included in the route and a map of their location. Participants will find a “passport” in the brochure to be filled with the stamps of the restaurants. In order to obtain the stamps, participants only need to buy a drink, which will be served together with a tapa. The brochures will be distributed on the street, in the tourist offices and in the bars and restaurants of the route.
A box will be placed inside the Palacio de Deportes, for people to deposit their passports once they have finished the route to take part in a raffle for prizes such as ice skating courses, concert tickets or ski passes.
The Councillor for Tourism took this opportunity to encourage the locals to attend the sport competitions of the Universiade: a golden opportunity to see new sport competitions live and for free, which will take place in Andalusia for the first time.
